I'm trying to kill the last hour or so of work, so I googled the VIN for my 128i

First I had to get the actual VIN, I remembered the last 7, but not the whole VIN. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

Armed with the full VIN, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! Where I came across this result:

So looks like someone sold my former 128i in April of this year after owning it for a little over two and half years and putting right around 17k on it for $ 10k . Ironically, if it was posted on April 7, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

Oh, when I need my VINs my car insurance company makes it really easy to pull them out. Unless you spend a lot of time in the forums I’ve found it hella convenient.

I’ve got the last seven of my cars memorized , so it’s easy enough to use a decoder. I didn’t think about the insurance, although this car hasn’t been on my policy for right at three years now.

Oh, I see. I guess I’d have to pull it from my stored paperwork if I wanted to remember what my old cars were. Maybe I’ll stick them in a google doc. I’m full up on number memorization.

you could kill time by attempting to find a 1:18 model of every car you’ve ever owned. bonus points for matching colors.

That’s not a bad idea, I think there’s a model of my explorer out there. I’ll just need to find it; correct color just not a 1:18. I have the only model of a E90 M3, plenty of E92 variants, but only one E90. There are E92 coupes out there, but I don’t think anyone makes an M-Sport trim. Ironically, I was looking for an e92 when I stumbled upon that green E90 and had to have it.

I'm at home now, but I'll have something to look for in the lulls next week.

Well I’m coming up blanks, though I am wondering if I can justify spending $18 on a tiny Previa (I guess technically an Estima, since the sliding door is on the wrong side):

Have you ever searched a VIN and it brings up a public record with that person’s name, address, and phone number? It’s common with late-2000’s cars.

I haven't really been able to find any of that when googling VINs.
